When Bro. Michael De Los Reyes uttered these words, all sixty-five people present vigorously nodded in agreement. NSOLL Lingkods and Archconfraternity members felt honored not just because the award-winning author and theologian explained in depth and great detail what a Canonical Coronation was. But more so, all understood such that hearts were touched and a palpable sense of excitement overcame the room. Henceforth, everyone eagerly anticipates the Canonical Coronation of Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, once-in-a-lifetime historical event that will take place in our parish on May 2, 2020.

Held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Parish Center, Ms. Ruby Macario, DCPA 3 Coordinator led the opening prayer. Mr. Victor “Chichos” Luciano, Parish Pastoral Council Lay Coordinator gave the welcome remarks. The speaker was introduced by Ms. Tess Arvisu, NSOLL Website Coordinator. Following the presentation of Bro. Michael De Los Reyes was an open forum. Ms. Jocelyn Calica, President of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes at NSOLL gave the closing remarks. And finally Mr. Matt Martin, Formation Ministry Coordinator led the closing prayer.

Some memorable words from Bro. Michael De Los Reyes: “The message of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes is three-fold: Be an obedient child of the Father. You will then be filled with the Holy Spirit. We should give birth to Jesus in our words and deeds, our whole life. This is our call.” And on the Canonical Coronation, “We crown because it is a recognition of veneration for her. Not only the image, but also the devotion of the people, as represented by the image.”

Thank you Bro. Michael De Los Reyes. We are on fire to help. We are inspired to live the message of Our Lady of Lourdes. And we are so grateful to the Capuchin Fathers for their love and commitment to spreading the devotion to the ends of the earth!

Peace and all good!
