Video – Capuchin Brothers Conduct Relief Operations for the Dumagat Communities of the Provinces of Rizal and Quezon

On Sunday, November 22, 2020, 300 families from the indigenous people of Dinaraitan, Tanay, Rizal and Gen. Nakar, Quezon who suffered serious damage to their homes and properties by heavy downpour and flood in the wake of typhoon Ulysses, received relief packs containing 5kgs of Rice, ½ kilo Tuyo, ½ kilo Monggo, 1 bottle Bagoong Isda, 1 pack Kapeng Barako and 1 pack Brown Sugar.

The vehicles of the Capuchin brothers parked by a river, then they crossed on a banca filled with donations for families from Sitio Makidata, Tinipak, Kablaw, Baykuran, Madulas, Bariwin and Tatawiran. Some of the families walked 1.5 hours to the meeting point.

The following are requested items: Solar Panel Kits (for lighting) Kulambo (mosquito nets), Blankets and Pillows. Clothing for children, undergarments for children and adults (male and female)

Some homes were partially damaged, while some were swept away by the flood. Residents requested for materials for their roofs, walls, as well as water hoses.

Brothers from the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin who joined this relief operation were Br. Joenifer Ygonia, Br. Michael Flores, Br. Mario Mortalla, Br. Allan Samson and Br. Jose Eduardo Mayo.
