“God’s Word Restores” is the theme for this Bible Month of January.

Social media platforms will become the venue to spread the truth from God’s Word, for the following events and suggested activities:

  • The Bible Fest will enable sharing of testimonies on healing, and the uniting and transforming power of God’s love on January 23 – 25.
  • January 24 is designated as The Sunday of the Word of God, a practice that Pope Francis started in 2018. Mark the day with activities like bible enthronement in the home or parish, reading bible verses, joining group meetings to discuss the gospel, and vowing to know, live and transmit God’s word as a way of life.
  •  January 25 is National Bible Day. Join an on-line bible study.
  • January 25 to 29 is National Bible Week. It started from Proclamation No. 124  issued by President Rodrigo Duterte on January 5, 2017, declaring the month of January of every year as National Bible Month culminating in the last week as National Bible Week.
  • On January 29 attend the talk by the Live Christ, Share Christ Movement on “Be the BOSS! (Bearers of Sacred Scriptures) Rediscovering the Word thru Liturgical Bible Study (LBS)” after the 6PM Mass,  at NSOLL’s Facebook Page. A presentation by the Lay Formation Ministry.

In this uncertain time, we rely on the Word of God to allay our fears. Let us start the year with hope in our hearts that, having survived 2020, Year 2021 will be filled with God’s blessings and love.

At the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Quezon City, a Bible Enthronement will take place on Saturday, January 23 during the 6:00 PM Mass.  Everyone is invited.

Families are also encouraged to enthrone the Bible in their homes.

An e-booklet entitled “Bible Enthronement Rituals and Offertory of the Word of God” from the CBCP Episcopal  Commission on the Biblical Apostolate is available on request.
