Amidst this pandemic and another round of ECQ, NSOLL-SSDM continues to provide assistance to our less fortunate brethren.  Fr. Ronnie Santos, Director of  SSDM Diocese of Cubao  provided  5 sacks of rice and 3 boxes of sardines. With this assistance, 83 food packs, each with 3 kilos of rice and sardines were prepared.

NAOL / SANA ALL: Let us resolve to help families who need to scavenge in order to have food for their table, keeping in mind that our own families are blessed to be able to eat 3 full meals daily with snacks in between.

Mark 9:16 “Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News to all creation.”

The message is clear, “Proclaim the Good News to ALL creation.” ALL is not exclusive to just few. ALL means everyone. And so we are all called to share the good news to others. Proclaiming good news to all creation entails blessing others. If we are gifted, it means that we are gifted to give. If we are blessed; we are blessed so we can bless others.

It is a daunting task to ensure that everyone we see on the streets, the urban poor and street dwellers, beggars and scavengers, will have continuous supply of food in their table.

If we learn to see them with eyes from our hearts, we will know that the Lord is calling us to spare and to share. So that in their daily struggle they learn to depend on hope and trust in the Lord for graces and providence.

With the generosity of others, we are somehow able to provide basic food provisions to our less fortunate brothers and sisters.

Again, thank you to SSDM Diocese of Cubao, through Fr. Ronnie Santos, for being our Mission Partner for our activities for today.

Special thanks to our Couples For Christ brethren who assisted us with the repacking of food packs, since some of our SSDM lingkods are on locked down.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY WITH THE POOR

Today, a week after Jesus’ resurrection, the Lord is SENDING us to those areas where we are called to serve and become witnesses of God’s mighty power, to bring compassion, mercy and graces to others. ‘As the Father sent me, so am I sending you.’

Let us reflect on the Prayer of St. Faustina on the Feast of Divine Mercy

Help me, O Lord that my eyes may be merciful, so that I may never judge from appearances, but look for what is beautiful in my neighbors and come to their rescue.

Help me that my ears may be merciful, so that I may give heed to my neighbor’s needs and not be indifferent to their pains.

Help me, O Lord that my tongue may be merciful, so that I should never speak negatively of my neighbor, but have a word of comfort and forgiveness for all.

Help me, O Lord, that my hands may be merciful and filled with good deeds, so that I may do only good to my neighbors and take upon myself the more difficult and toilsome tasks.

Help me, that my feet may be merciful, so that I may hurry to assist my neighbor, overcoming my own fatigue and weariness. My true rest is in the service of my neighbor.

I will refuse my heart to no one. I will be sincere even with those who I know will abuse my kindness. I will bear my own suffering in silence. May your mercy, O Lord, rest upon me.

O my Jesus, transform me into yourself, for you can do all things. Amen.
