On the 5th week since his arrival at NSOLL Rev. Fr. Jefferson E. Agustin OFMCap., popularly known as “Fr. Jeff” the new Parish Priest and Rector of NSOLL,  went on his first pastoral visit to Barangay Salvacion the first of 9 barangays of the parish.

It was Saturday evening, July 3, 2021 that Fr. Jeff celebrated the Holy Eucharist at the Nuestra  Señora de Salvacion de La Loma Chapel at  30 Don Manuel Agregado Street  Quezon City. This 54-year old chapel is the sanctuary of the 98-year old image of the Nuestra Señora de Salvacion de La Loma.  It continues to be under the auspices of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchins (OFMCap.) of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes.

On hearing this wonderful development, mass goers flocked to the chapel.  Many sat outdoors in compliance with social distancing measures.  After being closed for more than 16 months since February 28, 2020 due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19, this was the first mass to be celebrated in their beloved chapel. They gave glory to God on hearing Fr. Jeff announce that regular Saturday evening masses will be celebrated.

Barangay officials headed by Punong Barangay Kap. Danilo B. Soriano together with Chapel officers led by President Mr. Jaime Caraos  met with Fr. Jeff who reached out bearing a precious gift – a fresh start, the reinstatement of weekly masses at the Chapel, despite the pandemic environment.

Other Chapel officers present were Br. Richie Cruz – Vice President, Sis. Eva de Vera – Secretary, and  Sis. Joy Dueñas – Lector/Commentator.

Barangay officials present were Brgy. Kagawad Mila Villaseñor, Brgy. Kagawad Lydia Alcatraz, Brgy. Kagawad Sara Bernardino, Brgy. Kagawad Chie Cabarliza , SK Chairman John Adrian Ramos.

Thank you to all officials of Barangay Salvacion, all officers of the Salvacion Chapel for a successful Pastoral Visit with Rev. Fr. Jefferson Agustin, OFMCap.
