On October 22, 2021, a role play session of the Spiritual Conversations was presented to volunteer facilitators, note takers and participants at NSOLL Church’s entrance patio.
The training started at 7:15 pm with a prayer led by Sis. Tess Monserrate (Synod Assist. Team Head). Then a video message from Rev. Fr. Jefferson E. Agustin, OFMCap., Parish Priest and Rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes (NSOLL). Bro. Glenn Ricafrente (Synod Team Head) gave a brief explanation on the Role Play Session.
With member volunteers of NSOLL’s ministries and organizations present, the role players came ready by reflecting on at least 2 or 3 chosen themes of the Ten Synodal Themes in advance. The well-prepared participants were: Facilitator – Sis. Suzette Custodio (Family & Life Ministry), Note Taker – Sis. Tess Arvisu (Soccom), Sis. Malou Fernandez (Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes -COLL), Bro. Lito Reyes (Basic Ecclesial Communities- BEC), Bro. Vincent Ian Medrano (Youth), Sis. Felicci Almarines (Migrants Ministry), Sis. Teresa Ignacio (Urban Poor Ministry – UPS) and Sis. Joy Rubio (Greeters and Collectors Ministry). Fourteen observers were present, as well as the Synod Consultation Team members.
Sis. Suzette, the Role Play facilitator followed an Agenda as prescribed by the Diocese of Cubao Synod. After overcoming the initial hesitation, the discussions went smoothly, in part due to the quiet and thoughtful listening accorded to every participant in the group. A casual and warm “kwentuhan”. The session ended with heartfelt spontaneous prayers of gratitude.
Bro. Glenn announced the point persons in every barangay for proper coordination & to make sure the participants who will be invited will come from diverse background, age, social status etc.
Everyone is invited to join this once-in-a-lifetime event – an opportunity to directly respond to the call of Pope Francis to build a Synodal Church.
