On December 10, we celebrated the memorial of Blessed Arsenio da Trigolo, a Capuchin Brother hailed by the Church as one of the Blessed. As a child, Guiseppe Antonio Migliavacca was a fervent Marian devotee, often visiting the Chapel of Madonna della Grazzie in Cremona, Italy. This devotion solidified his path toward priesthood.

He entered the Society of Jesus (SJ) but was forced to withdraw because of some complications. He founded the Soure de Maria Santissima Consolatrice for religious women in 1892, but was forced out of the order due to slanderous accusations.

He entered the Order of the Friars Minor Capuchin and was vested the brown habit on June 1902. He assumed the religious name Arsenio da Trigolo due to his reflections on the life of Saint Francis. In his eagerness to work for the Order he dedicated his life of vocation to preaching, hearing confessions of the faithful and aiding the Tertiaries of the Third Order of Saint Francis, now commonly known as the Venerable Orden Tercera. He professed his solemn vows on June 1906. Daily strenuous work affected his health. He passed away due to a brain aneurysm on December 10,1909.

Blessed Arsenio da Trigolo was beatified on October 7, 2017 at the Milan Cathedral.

Blessed Arsenio da Trigolo, Pray for us!
