Rev. Fr. Cesar F. Acuin, OFMCap. is the Parish Priest and Rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Quezon City.

God truly has given us so many graces to share. During the past week, we have reflected on Jesus’ sacrificial love at Calvary and the hope His resurrection brings to us. Despite the problems that have beset not only our country but also the whole world over several months now, faith prevails. Despite our struggles, hope springs eternal. Despite our sacrifices and isolation, the spirit of charity continue to spread through prayers and acts of mercy. The resurrection of Jesus continue to be the center of our belief. These are the things that can be discerned only through the eyes of faith.

Today, we are celebrating the presence of the Risen Jesus. Indeed, Jesus is alive in us and among us. When this crisis is over, we pray and hope that people will change their lives and be converted, and we will celebrate as a people of God. We pray and hope that many will be firm believers, sharing the good news so that people will be one in Christ.

May all of us proclaim the good news of His incarnation, life, passion, death and resurrection, the news which gives meaning to life.  May this good news enkindle the spirit, so that we may witness to our faith and live out our hope.  Let us keep in our hearts and show by our actions that Jesus is truly risen in us and that He is a God who will never forsake us. Alleluia!
