On Saturday June 12, 2021 at 3:00 pm, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes was honored to receive the pilgrim image of Saint Joseph which came from nearby Sta. Teresita Parish.

In line with the celebration of the year of Saint Joseph from December 8, 2020 to December 8 2021, the Diocese of Cubao together with the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Saint Joseph and the St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Balintawak, arranged week-long visits to churches in the diocese for the faithful to be able to contemplate on Saint Joseph, the Foster Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

The image was brought to NSOLL by the priests and brothers of Sta. Teresita Del Niño Jesus (STP), headed by its Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Artemio Ron Ojeda, OFMCap., together with Rev. Fr. Paul Vincent Perlado, OFMCap., Parochial Vicar. The organizers of this diocese-wide event were also present:  Rev. Fr. Victor Angelo Parlan, Parochial Vicar of the Diocesan Shrine of Saint Joseph (DSSJ) and Seminarian Max Evardoni from the Diocese of Cubao.  Rev. Fr. Jeff Agustin, OFMCap. received the life-sized father and son image which was carried by the Capuchin brothers to the canonical throne

The pilgrim image will stay for one week, and will be brought to Sta. Perpetua Parish on D. Tuazon Ave on June 19th after the farewell mass at 7:30 am. This unique depiction of Saint Joseph and the boy Jesus Christ show a father firmly holding his young son’s  left hand, while his chubby right hand clutched on to what looked like his father’s carpenter tool box. It also tells the story of how Saint Joseph was chosen to be the spouse of Mary.

Everyone is invited to come to NSOLL to ponder and to pray to our Spiritual Father Saint Joseph. And be edified.

     Saint Joseph, pray for us!
