Two days before Christmas on December 23, 2021, the Office of the Mayor of Quezon City the Hon. Ma. Josefina Belmonte distributed food packages to 4,800 persons belonging to the Diocese of Cubao. In each of the 48 parishes, 100 parish workers happily received Quezo de Bola and frozen food packs, perfect for Noche Buena and the Christmas holidays.

The National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes (NSOLL) in Quezon City was the designated receiving and distribution facility. Under the leadership of Bro. Jose Victor Luciano, PPC Lay Coordinator, who got a call from Bro. Johnny Cardenas – Diocesan Coordinator who witnessed the distribution, the system went smoothly. The office of the Mayor thru Miss Lillibeth was apprised from time to time. Thanks in part to the cooperation extended by Rev. Fr. Jefferson E. Agustin, OFMCap – Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. Aristotle “Toti” Padama,OFMCap – LSQC Rector.

A briefing for the Diocesan Coordinators and Vicariate Coordinators was held before the distribution started.  All parish representatives were able to collect their gifts.

NSOLL Ministries and Organizations involved in this effort were the Urban Poor Ministry (UPM), the Social Services and Development Ministry (SSDM), Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC), Social Communications Ministry  (SOCCOM), and the Facilities and Maintenance organization.  Barangay Maharlika officials also extended valued assistance in this endeavor.
